Luthansa has launched a Spring sale from America. The sale offers more than 30 European destinations including Copenhagen, Stockholm and London. Return fares are available from $ 510 (ca. € 376), excluding taxes and fees. Travel between April 5 and May 13. Book by March 23.

Jet2.com have announced the first two routes of their winter schedule. Flights from east Midlands to Geneva and Chambery will launch on December 20 and will be serviced for the duration of the winter season. Fares are available for booking already.

Continental Airlines will from June 9 operate another service to Mexico from Houston, Texas. The Star Alliance carrier will operate a twice weekly service to Tuxtla Gutierrez, marking its 30th Mexican destination.

SAS has decided to follow the fellow Star Alliance members and insert a fee for the second checked luggage. From April 1 the Scandinavian airline will introduce a fee of $ 50 / € 40 for a second luggage if travelling cross-Atlantic with Economy Class. Business Class and Economy Extra passengers will still be able to bring two pieces of luggage of 32 kg each.

Ryanair has announced a new route to Ciudad Real. The new route to Spain will be the low-cost airline’s first to Ciudad Real, and only the second low-cost airline to operate a service there after Air Berlin. The route is set to launch on May 25.

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will launch a new route to Russia this coming summer. The new service will begin flying to St. Petersburg from Barcelona on June 26, operating twice weekly.

Spanair will launch two new services to Birmingham this summer. From May 20 a four-times weekly service from Barcelona will start, while a thrice weekly from Madrid will start on May 29.

City Airline, the Swedish Gothenburg based air carrier, has decided to cancel routes from Gothenburg to Athens and Milan. The routes which have not even debuted yet were supposed to launch during the spring. Customers affected by the cancelation have been contacted by the airline and offered a full refund as well as a gift cardwith a value of SEK 500.

Monarch Airlines has announced a new set of flights to Greek island of Santorini. The low-cost carrier will operate weekly flights between May 5 and October 5 from London Gatwick and Manchester airports. Return fares are available from £ 160 (ca. € 178) all inclusive.

TAP Portugal has announced that their two Portuguese routes to Paris will move. The national Portuguese air carrier will move its flights from Lisbon and Porto from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Paris Orly. The changes will take effect on April 1.

Spanair will launch two more routes in the summer. The new services will connect Malaga and Venice twice weekly from May 26 and Madrid and Belgrade twice weekly from May 28.

British Airways has announced that their cabin crew will strike twice this month. The British carrier has been in a bad position with the union since late 2009, when new working conditions were imposed reducing staffing by one or two crew on all BA flights. The two strikes will run three days from March 20 and four days from March 27.

Delta Air Lines has announced a new inter-state flight from June 10. The new route will operate from Los Angeles to San Francisco with five daily services.

Anadolujet has announced new services to Copenhagen and Stockholm. The Turkish low-cost airline owned by Turkish Airlines will launch flights to both Scandinavian capitals from Ankara and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Ankara to Copenhagen and Istanbul to Stockholm will be operated four times weekly from June 1, while Istanbul to Copenhagen and Ankara to Stockholm will operate thrice weekly from June 3.

Ryanair has announced their 41st European base from May. The Irish low-cost airline will open its newest base at Malta, basing a Boeing 737 and launching six new routes. The new routes will fly to Billund, Bologna, Krakow, Marseilles, Seville and Valencia.

SAS has announced an increase in frequency on flights to Vilnius. The Scandinavian airline will increase frequency between Copenhagen and Vilnius from two to three daily flights. The changes will take effect from May 3. In unrelated news, SAS will also increase frequency on flights from Stockholm. Flights to London Heathrow will now increase to seven times daily, to Paris Charles de Gaulle to 18 weekly flights, Bergen to five weekly, Malmo to 52 weekly and Skelleftea to 21 weekly.

Transavia will launch three new routes from Copenhagen and to from Billund this summer. KLM’s low-cost airline will launch new flights to Venice, Sardinia and Palermo. From Billund the new routes will fly to Antalya in Turkey and Pula in Croatia. The three routes will operate from the end of June to the middle of August.
